We collect the following categories of information:
Details about your project. To guide your downsizing, you may tell us about your home, belongings, timeline, budget, or the family members helping you, and you may send photos of your home or belongings. Share only what you are comfortable with, and give us another person's contact details only if they have agreed.
Sensitive information. We do not require Social Security numbers, bank or financial account numbers, or government ID numbers, and ask that you not send them through the Site or by email. Because downsizing can involve conversations about health, mobility, or finances, you may choose to share that kind of information with us. If you do, we use it only to provide the services you request, we do not sell it, and where the law requires it we ask for your consent first.
We use your information to:
We do not sell your personal information.
Our use of advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel may be considered "targeted advertising" or "sharing" under some state privacy laws. See "Cookies and Analytics" below for how to opt out.
We share information only with:
If you ask us to connect you with a mover, estate sale company, donation service, or other vendor, we share your contact details with them only with your permission.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working and to understand how visitors use it. We use, or may later use, Google Analytics to measure traffic and improve content, and the Meta Pixel (from Facebook) to measure the performance of our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited the Site. These tools may set cookies and collect your IP address and browsing activity on the Site, and the Meta Pixel may share that information with Meta. You can opt out of targeted advertising by declining non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, adjusting your ad settings with Meta and Google, or sending a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies may affect some Site features.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We honor browser-based Global Privacy Control signals as a valid request to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal information. Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them.
Cookie consent. When you first visit the Site, our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
How to make a request. Email 2ff6ead069b740c0b8c0cfdeaad3d784@domainsbyproxy.com. We will verify your identity, which may require matching details you give us to information we already hold, and respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where permitted). If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and you may contact your state attorney general.
Texas residents. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives Texas residents the rights above. We do not sell personal data or sensitive personal data.
California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act gives California residents the rights above. In the past 12 months we have not sold personal information as defined in the CCPA, but our use of advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, which you can opt out of as described in this policy.
Residents of other U.S. states. Many states, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others, grant similar rights, and the process above applies to you as well.
UK and EU residents. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR we process your data based on your consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (running and securing the Site, responding to inquiries), contract (providing services you request), and legal obligation. You also have the right to object to processing, restrict processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Email marketing. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, to meet legal and accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. Contact-form messages and client correspondence are kept for [retention period, e.g., 3 years] unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Age restriction. The Site is intended only for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers. We are based in the United States, and your information is processed here. If you visit from the UK or EU, your information is transferred to the U.S. using appropriate safeguards where required, such as standard contractual clauses with our service providers.
Third-party links. The Site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or a notice on the Site.
